New York style pizza isn't pizza, it's just a cracker with cheese on it.

Chigaco style pizza isn't pizza, it's just round lasagna.

Change my mind.

I like both those things and don't think you're wrong, but now I want pepperoni lasagna and that sounds like it's right at the limits of my cooking ability.

At its core it's just alternating layers of pasta, meat, cheese, and tomato sauce, it isn't super hard. There's more nuance than that, and it's a little cumbersome, but it's definitely doable. I don't think you'd want pepperoni slices like for pizza, though, maybe you want one of those logs and just dice up a bunch. You could even treat it like a pizza and throw something else in, too. Mushrooms? Peppers? Don't say pineapple, I'll reach through this phone.

Good, I don't have to strangle someone. I wonder if you could just throw, like, a layer of dough in the bottom of a glass pan? If it's in a rectangle pan that's a few inches deep, is it still pizza?

Yes, but can it be pizza and a casserole at the same time? A pizzerole, you could say? Or is that just super-pan?

Ew, no, those are all well and good, but that's the opposite of what I want!!

...now I might make a super-deep-dish pizza just to say I did it. Except I shouldn't eat it all, that way lies only sadness. Maybe I'll make extra and share.
