I am reasonably certain that neither the portal nor anything on the other side - ne'er do wells and such excepted, as on this side - will try to kill you. We took care of the thing that would have done that, after it tried to... well. That's not important.

Why are you so content about this? What's the guarantee it won't happen again? Or something else won't happen that's worse? This is a new thing. A bizarre thing. Even for us. Something happened from it but everyone is just brushing it aside like: Oh, well it's fixed now.
