So I guess this isn't the first time I've been reincarnated.

It's happened to me at least once before, and it seems like it was just as confusing then as it is now.

I wonder how different I am from those previous incarnations.

Yggdrasil did not exist. It's fiction just like the story you're buying wholesale. Myths are just that.

Yes. I've heard plenty of conspiracies, but those are easy to come up with.

These memories, and everything that's happening.. A lot of it is making sense the more I think about them. They feel right, in a way.

A sword that I had before appeared next to me a few weeks ago, and now I have a tattoo now that I didn't have before. What sort of government agency implants a memory, sneaks into my house, leaves a sword there, then tattoos my hand? All without anyone knowing.

That is absolutely terrifying. They changed you, your body, your mind, without your knowledge or consent and gave you a prop sword to further the delusion. How can you be okay with that? Are you so eager to escape reality you'll grab any fantasy that comes along? How do we even know they're government aside from their say so? Will you have a little more common sense about what is really going on here?

[and common sense or not, he knows he has to get Anthony out of this situation. How, he has no idea, short of chloroforming him and stuffing him on a plane. But he has to. Anthony would too easily fall into that trap. That desire. Anthony's hard won life would shake apart and he couldn't allow that]

I don't know that they're government, but that's where conspiracies like to start.

Anyway, I really don't think it's like that. Why would they go that far? What's the purpose of this, if they're not real? How is it being done?

There's too much we don't know to say anything for sure, but this is the angle I'm choosing to explore. It doesn't mean I've lost touch with reality.

Exactly. We don't know what's going on in their twisted minds. There are too many questions and not enough answers. This isn't an angle you're choosing to ignore but a fairy story you're choosing to believe because it makes you feel like you have more control over it. But you don't. Instead of accepting it as a matter of course, maybe set the fantasy woo woo stuff to the side and focus on the fact that you were changed without even being asked.

I'm not going to believe the worst of anyone without reason. I don't believe anyone snuck in to give me a tattoo in the middle of the night without me noticing.

We might just need to agree to disagree for now, and see where this all goes.

Fine. Just something to keep in mind, if they can give you false memories, what else can they do to your mind? Have you ever been in surgery? Or anesthetized? That's sleep so deep you don't know what's happening. You can't notice anything and anything can happen to you.
