Video - Diving into online dating apps
[ Strange dreams from the night before plagued his mind but he settled down to try and carry on with his chosen mission in spite of them. ]
Are you a man or a woman interested in finding a man or a woman?
[ Anthony read the question carefully before typing in an answer and speaking it aloud although he was sitting alone. ]
Sure.
[ He wasn't entirely certain what Alec's preferences were so Anthony hedged his bets and picked both. All the better to give his antisocial cousin as many choices as possible. The profile pages were filled out with Alec's information, the usual age, sex and location goodies along with the likes and dislikes... which were heavier on the dislikes than the likes. And it was rounded out with a handsomely smiling selfie of Anthony himself. They did practically look like twins! So what if the smile was a lie and unlikely to actually be seen on Alec's face. The potential new couple could work that out when they finally met.
Anthony sat in the gloom of his bedroom typing up as many online dating profiles on his laptop as there were online dating websites. Not for him of course, he had some one. It was Alec's own fault for making it sound like he was out there looking for some one to love and going about it in entirely the wrong ways. He just needed a little help, a friendly nudge to get the ball rolling and then the rest was entirely up to him only some of these questions were so outlandish and wild that they needed to be shared with the 'Different' crowd! ]
How do you prefer to be kissed, slow and tender or hard and passionately?
[ He frowned and gestured at his cell phone. ]
How would you even answer anything like that?? We're meeting for the first time not arranging a sleepover! Its a bit much for a profile question isn't it? Only thing worse would be asking how much you are making or... diving right into the do you want kids question.
[ His room was dark with the shades pulled tightly closed and yet he still wore his sunglasses as if he needed them to shield him from the glow of the computer. After a while he grumbled and rubbed at his eyes, while still keeping them very carefully shielded from the camera. ]
Sod it. I'll think of something to write in.
[ Anthony paused and frowned again at the screen.]
And now someone's asking if I'll watch their cat this weekend??
[ Each words was typed angrily. ]
Hire. A. Sitter.
At least a few of these don't look like lost causes. What do you lot think, is the online dating market always this bad? Maybe there is a better site out there?

What do you want, me to yell at you? I was mad at the time. I've never done anything to hurt a kid in my life and I didn't like being treated as if I had.
[ Flashback to tempting Fell to murder a boy... Though he supposed he understood the reason for that slip up now. ]
But I'm not a 'good person' so you weren't entirely wrong either.

I've been thinking a lot about that, actually. What does it mean to be a "good person" or a "bad person" and why should anyone really care about labels like that? Is there any real benefit to thinking so much about it?
no subject
I only ever think about it due to my past profession but I'm not sure most people ever take the time to worry about how good or evil they are. Oh, they might have a moment of doubt now and then when diving in to have another doughnut or cutting in front of some one in line, but most people go about their day doing whatever makes them happy. You know... sometimes I think people aren't good or evil, they're just human.
[ He paused his typing long enough to snatch a nearby apple from a basket, as he was feeling a wee bit peckish. ]
Why does it suck?

Adulthood is just... a lot. People expect more things from you. Gotta get a job, pay for things that you shouldn't have to just to survive. Give up what you're passionate about just to make ends meet. Sucks.

[ Like when a certain Bureau scumbag messes with your family. ]
But adulthood doesn't have to be that bad. You get all this new freedom to do whatever the hell you want, go where ever you want, you don't have to answer to anyone. All you have to do is find what you like to do and charge people for it. That's what I did.
no subject
Freedom, huh? Guess I'm already excelling at that last part back in K-Boz, but I doubt I'd have much luck here. There are already tons of street artists making pennies for their work. I doubt I'd be able to sustain myself that way.

Honestly, though, I've never been satisfied with art that isn't a true expression of what I feel or see or understand. Makes it hard to grandstand what I don't feel connected to. I'd just say it was a gag if I managed to pull off something like that.

Please don't listen to Anthony's "razzle dazzle them" instructions because eventually everyone does suss out that you're trying to "pull a fast one."

If nothing else, the act of creating a self-shredding piece is a deliberate one, whereas your toilet seat on the dining table could be someone taking a picture of a curiosity or anomaly and spinning a story after the fact.

Seriously, I doubt I'd be able to do that without wanting to throw up. It's such a slap in the face to anyone else who truly appreciates art.

But hey, congratulations on your first thwarting, angel.
no subject
But I don't see how this is my first. I've thwarted you many times before. Just usually a little less publicly or with fewer witnesses.
Adding this to my tally regardless.

Yeah.
Let you win. ~_^

You can sprinkle in some of your own expressions too, especially after you get established. By that time people will buy anything. Think of it as... getting your foot in the door.
