I might have, but there was someone with me that I recognized from my first memory. He introduced himself to me just before we jumped off a cliff.

Erik? I do know an Erik but he doesn't have blue hair. Can you remember anything else about him?

Well he was kind of short, slight build, wore earrings. His eyes might have been blue?

I doubt he's around though. What are the odds, right? I only know one person that has someone from their world here so far- and that's crazy as it is.

The guy I know is large, big build, he does have blue eyes but he runs a bar back in Dorset now. Can't be the same guy.

[ The rest gave him pause. Should he ask? Did he want the answer? Was that Mr. Fell's name about to come up again? ]

Who? Do they both actually remember each other?

I'm not sure. Think I was too shocked to ask. I hope so, though. Just the odds of two people being Different, in the same place, knowing each other in a previous life, then actually meeting?

And of course it'd just be really awesome to have a friend from a past life to talk to.

Why was the dragon trying to eat you anyway?

Uh well, I don't know. We kind of stumbled on it in the dark, then had to run for our lives. I only know it was under a castle because Erik mentioned it. It might have been guarding something for all I could see.

That is what they do in the stories, guard castles and treasure hordes. And chase hobbits.

Do you think it might mean you're a criminal if you're being chased by castle guards? And where jumping off a really tall cliff is preferable to capture?

Hypothetically.

Hypothetically, right.

Yea... I'd say that was a pretty safe bet. Why else would they chase anyone? Either they are after a criminal or, maybe, some house guest the King didn't want to leave yet. Came for the buffet but tried to slip out before the tedious ballroom dancing. Maybe it was an eat and run.

Yeah, and 'darkspawn' is just a cultural nickname for something harmless.

I guess, if it's spawned from darkness.

What else would a demon be spawned from? I'm pretty sure they don't come from Care-a-lot.

But at least, if that's how I met Erik, then we definitely survived that jump. Guess these memories aren't going to be in any sort of order.

I mean having to jump off a cliff to avoid a dragon sucks too, its good you didn't die, but I meant it sucks that these memories occur out of order. Everything is confusing enough as it is.

Yeah. Guess we'll have to do the legwork if we want to keep everything straight. It's probably gonna look like one of those consprliracy walls.

Maybe keep a diary instead. People think the Different are crazy enough without giving them a wall full of yarn strings, push pins and photos to stumble across.

Just my mom, but uh, turns out she is too, so that was awkward.

It was a thing. It's worked out of course, so that's a relief. I mean she's upset it's happening to me, but.
