I was not. He came in here asking if I was going to be rude. I'm not going to tiptoe around and sugarcoat not to offend his sensibilities. I'm going to speak how I speak and if he can't handle that then we won't work together. Simple as that.

You need people to test this and if you alienate everyone, you won't have anyone with powers left to test. I don't have powers, nor does your cousin. You'll have to be nice enough to someone who doesn't already like you.

But it's... it's ridiculous. It really is. It's not bloody personal. I'm not going to insult anyone who doesn't start whining about it. It needs to be done but people want their hand held. Can't they see it's more important than that? No of course not. You've got to go through the twelve step program of wining and dining and telling them they're pretty to even get a chance at something that'll benefit everyone in the long run.

I'm just asking for a bit of professionalism.

You don't need to hold hands, but no one wants a hostile workplace. If you're expecting professionalism out of people, you might consider treating them like you plan to work with them.

Well if nothing else hopefully more amiable people will be inspired to do this.
