Okay so at this point I can kind of accept the memories..I even kind of understand getting back powers. But..this..
[He holds up a sleek black flute with a red tassel dangling from the end of it.]
I don't even know how to play the flute and don't really have a whole lot of interest in learning. Does anyone know if I'll just magically wake up some day with an ability to play or should I just put this up on my shelf as some sort of decoration?
[He sets it back down and then picks up a piece of paper that is a few inches wide and about eight inches long with red designs scrolled across it.]
Also, anyone know what this is because I've been drawing them all morning and have a stack of various ones now that I'm afraid to touch in case I light the place on fire by accident. I just moved in here so I'd rather not mess it up. I'm really not mentally prepared to start having magic abilities..
[Is he stressed out? He might be slightly stressed..he's had far too many memories hitting him lately and now with the addition of these magic paper pieces and a flute he is starting to panic that the whole controlling ghosts things is in his very near future.]

[He sighs and tries to think about it. He picks up the top one off one of the piles and stares at it.]
Each pile was a little different..one of them I think has something to do with fire. One might be..a shield? Or barrier? And the third one I think is the worst..I was thinking about summoning something.
no subject
[ That was the first summon-able creature that sprang to mind for some reason. ]
Well... maybe we should take those papers out to a park and try them out? Or, better, that abandoned building site on 5th. There is no one around there.
no subject
[He definitely doesn't want to try them here..he just got this place so he doesn't want to destroy it.]
You offering to be my chaperone?
no subject
[ Anyway he was curious to see if these scrolls would do anything but flutter in the wind himself. ]
Meet you at the lot?
no subject
[Worth a shot at least..]
I'll be there soon.
no subject
See you there.

Once he arrives he lays them out on the windowsill whose window has long since lost all of its glass. He doesn't feel terribly comfortable in an abandoned building but it is better then nothing. He leans against the wall as he waits.]
Action
Nice night for some magic.
[ He approached close enough to peer down at these magical strips of paper but didn't make a move to actually disturb any of them. ]
Any idea how they are supposed to work?
no subject
No idea..I thought maybe I would just toss them towards an empty wall and see what happens. I feel like I've noticed these in my memories before but I never really paid much attention to it.
no subject
[ He spoke softly as he wound his way around Wei much like a serpent slithering its way around a tree so he could hover just there over his friend's shoulder and carefully observe whatever came of the experiment. ]
I think, deep down, you already know what to do with those. It's just a matter of remembering it.
no subject
Fire!
[As he concentrates that piece of paper bursts into flame, at first creating a large bonfire before finally settling into something much smaller. It seems rather controlled and only in the place that the talisman hit the ground.]
AH..okay..I guess I'll never need matches again.
no subject
[ It looked real but the only way to tell for sure was obviously... to plunge your hand down right into the middle of it. ]
no subject
Definitely feels hot..
[And the piece of wood does start to burn.]
Oh its real.
[He drops the wood into the fire and steps back again.]
no subject
Yeah, it's real enough.
[ He stepped back away from the flames, flexing his fingers as they cooled. ]
Try that barrier spell on it? Maybe you could actually snuff a flame with something like that.
no subject
I have a feeling this one is capable of a few things.
[It doesn't completely snuff out the fire though and instead seems to burn away before it can, disappearing from his fingers.]
Do you think I'm the one doing it..or is there just something with the symbol I drew?
no subject
[ Standing there watching he could think of at least twenty good uses right then, the best of which had the pair of them pranking New York by setting up invisible walls for people to bounce off of! Imagine the chaos! ]
I'd say it's a combination. I don't think those papers would be anything be decorative if I tried to use them, but I don't think they would work for you if they were only blank slips of paper. It's like in these magic books I've been reading.
[ Yes, he admits to reading but it just slipped out... It's not something he would own under normal circumstances. ]
In order to use some spells you need a magic symbol to channel the power.
no subject
Why are you reading magic books?
[He walks over to a window and tosses one of the barrier papers at it, watching as it immediately sticks to it.]
no subject
[ Anthony tried to recall if that window had glass on it before or if it had been one of the broken ones. ]
And there's Fell. He was talking about these magic circles and trying to summon something. Which reminds, you haven't tried that last one.
no subject
What does he want to summon?
[He walks back over and picks up the summoning talisman. He fears this one a little more then the others..]
What do we do if this summons something really nasty?
no subject
[ Him. Anthony's hands landed at his sides, casually at the ready for whatever might pop out of this last magical object. ]
You have a barrier spell, fire, and a demon, we'll come up with something.
no subject
Wei Wuxian takes several steps back until he is behind Anthony. Not at all confident that some sort of fire paper is going to work against a ghost.
The black figure swirls around them and darts around the room as if looking for something. It doesn't appear to want to harm them as it never gets any closer but finally finds a discarded piece of clothing that it dives into, making it rise up and fill out.]
It really summoned a ghost...
[Suddenly his hands go up and cover his ears, his head starting to ache as the voices start to speak to him again.]
no subject
Instead since it had circled them and done nothing but get dressed all this felt oddly normal. ]
Is it trying to say something to you?
[ He grew quiet and listened as hard as he could but the only thing he heard were the typical noises of the New York streets. ]
I can't hear a thing. Oi, you over there!
[ Maybe with a raised voice the ghost could hear him. ]
Try whispering! It's his first time summoning a ghost. Must be overwhelming.
no subject
[There is apparently a lot of dead around this place. That is when it seems to hurt the most. But the pain starts to ebb away as Anthony tries to talk to the ghost.]
I don't need to whisper! He called me here and is afraid of me? What kinda crap is this.
[It's a male voice with a pretty evident Brooklyn accent.]
I didn't mean to call you..we were just experimenting. You are free to go.
Free to go? You guys are the first people to hear me in years. Why would I go?
[He looks over at Anthony, unsure what he is supposed to do this this guy.]
no subject
[ A look towards Wei, semi-worried glances exchanged. ]
Don't you have ghost things to do? Maybe we are meant to ask you about your unfinished business? You... see a light anywhere?
[ A beat. ]
Or maybe some kind of glowing fiery entrance?
no subject
[Wei Wuxian starts looking through the talismans for anything that seems like a release spell or vanish..or anything that might send this guy on his way.]
Unfinished business? Yeahhh..You wanna hear about that. I'll share it with you.
[Suddenly Wei Wuxian's eyes widen and he almost drops the talismans. The man's voice fills his head and without even hesitating he finds exactly what he needs and sends another talisman towards the ghost. There is a scream and the black smoke disappears. Wei Wuxian stands there looking completely traumatized as he breathes heavily.]
He was a monster...a killer..
