Text- Introduction time

[Is that a new username you see on the network? By golly it is!]

Well, this is quite an interesting situation we've found ourselves in, isn't it?

I'm still not certain quite what to make of this whole business, but I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Emberto Alegre, and as I recently discovered, I'm now one of the 'Different'. Or perhaps I always was; the 'Martin' fellow who spoke to me about it wasn't exactly clear on that point

...On a side note, 'Different' is a very dull sounding name for a group connected by such fantastical circumstances, don't you think? One would think that a group whose job it is to deal with such things would be able to come up with something better than that. But then I suppose government agencies aren't exactly known for their creativity.

In any case, I look forward to getting to know you all. Beyond that, I suppose we'll just have to see where this unusual ride takes us.

I do wish you hadn't answered him so freely. Now he's going to think he can get away with this with every new person.

Being so rudely blunt. He could have at least said "hello"; it's only polite.

[but you've only just met him. give him time.]

Well, I am glad to see his manners are improving, then.

In any case, hello and welcome.

[might have, actually, with all his interest in theater. he just hasn't really been on the receiving end of the critique.]

Most people call me Mr. Fell.

I ADORE theater. Especially the smaller productions. Now, mind you, I do of course also like the big Broadway shows; there's absolutely nothing wrong with those. Quite the spectacle, with all those lavish costumes and set pieces and, well, you know. It's absolutely incredible, the whole "show stopping number" business of the thing, like those old MGM pictures: you have the feeling they spared no expense. Truly it's magical. And the soaring orchestrations. OH, but the smaller ones, where it's more intimate, with the stage so very close and the performances so personal and raw, and where you might meet the actors and writers and directors afterward--perhaps see something before it becomes big, support the small theatrical groups and all that--I especially adore that. But I mean, it's all about the experience, so really. I adore it.

Why do you ask?

It made him furious. He wanted to tell the man he wasn't his bloody mother, no matter how much he seemed to want to act like it. Friends, he called it, but as far as he understood it friends let friends be who they were. He doubted Fell came behind Anthony and constantly policed his behavior or hovered over him.

No, Alec wasn't a friend. He wasn't even a child. He was just some pet dog. A stray. Someone that was attached to Anthony.Someone to keep healthy because otherwise Anthony would be upset. Someone to train to behave.

He wanted to tell Fell this. To snarl it at him. But what good would that to? The man would fluster and feel terrible and would either keep on regardless or would pull back-- Either way he'd be upset and then Anthony would be pissed off at him for having upset the man.

It really was like his mum.

Can't you see you're upsetting Rufus? Why can't you be more supportive?!

So fine. Fine. Next time he would just lock his bloody reply. Wouldn't even bother to reply to this one so he wouldn't ruffle any feathers Fell had soothed. In fact if he could avoid Fell altogether all the better. He didn't think it would work, but he was going to make an attempt.
