[The feed clicks on and it's obvious that Wei Wuxian hasn't slept well based on the darkness under his eyes. His hair is a mess and he is clearly not wearing at least a shirt as he just woke up and couldn't even wait to get dressed before wanting to get some closure from what he just saw.]

So..I think I just got my second memory.

[His voice is a little rough, either from the rough night or the emotions of the memory, he isn't sure. He clears his throat and glances back as he hears the movement of sheets on the bed. But the other occupant doesn't seem ready to stir so he continues as he looks back over at the screen.]

It's just as unpleasant as the first..but apparently in my past life I had family. And I get the impression losing them was also my fault.

[He reaches up and rubs his face with his free hand, clearly disturbed by what he saw in his dream. He isn't even in his own apartment right now so he can't find a way to distract himself without finding his clothes and making a quick escape.]

I don't know if I'm strong enough to deal with these kinds of things...has anyone developed or gained a power for wiping memories?

If only giving up drink was the way to get rid of them.

[ Wei was toasted with his coffee before Anthony took another sip and oddly enough was able to drink more than a sip of it without burning his lips. It must have cooled pretty quickly. ]

I've had those memories come at you in the middle of the day. One of them knocked me so flat I ended up on the ground.

That must have been a hell of a memory..

[He starts with the water because most of all his mouth feels dry.]

My first one was on the way to work. I guess I just expected that they would all be that way and my dreams could stay pleasant.

You could say it hung the stars...

[ As that was what he had been doing in the memory. ]

You want to talk about this one? Guess it was worse than the other one you told me about...

[ Though he wasn't sure how it could be what with the blood and all. ]

[He stares at the cup in his hands.]

Any of your memories ever give you the feeling that the world is on fire and it's your fault?

[ He tried not to be harsh but Anthony's definitely took on a dead-panned timbre. ]

I was the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Technically... the way the world is now is my fault.

[ He paused for a breath, waiting for Wei to elaborate but when he didn't. ]

What was the dream?

The world right now isn't so bad in my opinion. I think you're a little too hard on yourself about all that. [There is a smile there. Wei Wuxian normally enjoys this world. It's just recently that things have gotten more difficult. And that smile falters when he has to describe the dream.]

This time it was like a war. Everyone fighting each other and these..black clouds were attacking. I got the feeling those were my fault. I was in the middle of the fight and everyone was trying to come after me but there was a woman's voice calling my name...My actual name..

[That part shook him down to his core. He could dismiss these are someone else's life but the minute his name gets input into them, things just become a bit too real.]

I was looking for her, I called her sister. And when I finally was moving towards her..I saw someone stab her. Me and another person reached her at the same time and she fell into his arms. She was dressed all in white like she was in mourning.

[XianXian..why did you run so fast? I couldn't even see your face.. Her voice echos in his head and he covers his ears as if he could block it out.]

Someone came up behind me..tried to kill me and she pushed me out of the way and took the blade instead.

Parts of it are alright.

[ Movies. He liked movies. And the cars, even if he only had that motorcycle. Fell. He held the softest place in his heart for that fussy odd little man and any world that could have created him definitely had to have some good in it!

Things like the war Wei brought up he could have done well without. Would have done the man's sister a lot of good to avoid it too. ]

She was trying to protect you. Rather noble thing of her to do. I don't think many people would have given their life for some one else. She must really have cared for you.

Heavy memory... Do, do you have any idea what the black clouds actually were?

It's strange to think I might have had family once...

[He shakes his head.]

The clouds were..odd. I could almost feel energy off of them. Which sounds really strange considering this was a dream.

[Except these dreams are oddly real. Last time he could smell the burning of the wood.]

They were strong and couldn't be beaten with swords. I honestly didn't see anyone being able to stop them. And they didn't try to come near me at all but everyone else was a target. The other strange thing was the people who were killed..it was like they were rising up and rejoining the fight. I really don't want to think they were zombies but..maybe?

I would never have thought to run at a cloud with a sword in the first place...

[ Anthony exhaled a breath, unsure how to approach such a deep subject he rambled for a while instead. ]

Giant fan maybe.

[ It wasn't helping much. His head rolled across his shoulders as he looked back to Wei. ]

You think you could have been one of those dark wizards or a necromancer? In stories people aren't very fond of them. Might explain the evil killer clouds and the zombie horde...

...necromancer? [Oh gawd..he makes a face. Does he look like someone who would want to play with dead bodies? He can't even imagine looking at one, let alone have to control one.]

So those clouds might have been..ghosts? Great..can we all agree that it would be better that I don't get that power back if that is the case?

[ Hey, who wants to play with dead bodies?? That's creepy undertaker level stuff that didn't bare much thinking about. ]

Dark ghost clouds... Maybe? I think we could safely skip that one.

You haven't seen anything weird? Heard anything go bump in the night? Seen any odd glowing lights out of the corner of your eye?

No! Nothing! I'm going to start sleeping with my light on. This is a mess..I've gone from being some sort of guy during a war to being someone who talks to dead people.

[He lays his head on the counter. Maybe he really will have that drink. He's already signalling for the barkeep without lifting his head.]

In my occult books...

[ Which was a phrase he never thought he would hear himself saying. First off being Catholic one wasn't supposed to dabble in such things and then there was the sitting down to actually read a book, which could be amazingly boring... ]

They suggest burning sage to ward off evil spirits. Might be worth a go?

[he requests something strong from the bartender and looks over.]

Do you really think things are going to start haunting me now? Do I really need to...burn sage??

I have no idea what all might happen but... Might be a good precaution just to keep some around.

Whatever has been set into motion I don't think it's going to just stop, do you?

I guess not..[he lifts his head as the drink comes and he takes a nice long sip of it.]

Well when the world is suddenly covered in black clouds all over the streets...you'll know who to blame.

I won't come at them with a sword if I do see any.

[ He frowned and looked to the tabletop as he took a moment to play with the handle of his coffee mug. ]

Maybe you could learn to control them? Prevent it from happening...

How am I supposed to learn how to control something I can't even do yet?

[Why couldn't he have been one of the ones without a power...He never even really believed in ghosts and now he's going to be surrounded by them.]

When do people usually start gaining these powers? This isn't going to start suddenly happening if I get a third memory back right?

[ His mouth dropped open as if to answer but no sound was produced. Anthony finally gave up and simply shook his head. ]

I've been reading... Anything and everything I can find about demons, even if it's boring, and the videos you can find are a lot more interesting.

That kid, seemed to start gaining powers right away, from what I know of him anyway. Everyone else, seems to have memories of them first and then the powers start turning real.

Then I hope my next memory has nothing to do with powers. Give me..a warm summers day in a field of flowers. Or just..anything but ghosts. Even a memory with my sister so I can actually..see her in a positive way.

[He has already finished his drink and signaled or another.]

Have you found anything about spirits in your demon books?

[ Mental note to grab the man a taxi later. This was going to be a hard drinking morning. ]

Some demons are said to actually be spirits. Other times demons control them. One demon apparently held a dozen souls in limbo in a house so that he could draw energy from them to make himself stronger. If you believe all this...

Never had any family. So the fact that at least one version of myself might have had a sister..I'm down for finding out what that is like.

[Give him cute kid stories about growing up and playing games. He doesn't care as long as no one dies in it.]

Listen..If I'm about to be talking to some dead long lost grandparent while sipping tea..I'll believe anything you tell me about demons and spirits.

If its anything like my family she will be bossy but generally mean well... You think you were older or that she was?

[ In his opinion it made a difference in the sort of relationship they would have had but being the youngest in his family and generally looked after might have given him a certain point of view on that. ]

That's very open-minded of you. If you do end up with a ghostly tea time maybe the folks can tell you more about all this. They would know as they must have lived through it. Well... up until the point where they became ghosts.

The way she was calling me XianXian..she was the older one. I called her shijie...so part of me wonders if maybe she wasn't blood related but we were still family.

[His Chinese is elementary level at best but looks like he might have to dive into it if he keeps speaking it in his dream.]

Has anyone learned any languages overnight with these memories, by chance?

[ Slow blink. Anthony's Chinese was limited to those few items that appeared on take away menus. ]

Actually... yeah. Not me, I only speak English, but I spoke to some one who got a book from their past. It was written in some strange old language only they could understand.
