I don't know. I don't know how this started. You said this began because you joked, and I assume Alec didn't take it well, and subsequently the communication between the two of you failed. Which seems to be where I came in. To me, it felt like I was seeing two people who were too stubborn to walk back and figure out where everything fell apart and so kept digging it deeper.

He was childish and belittling and perhaps I shouldn't have gotten involved.
