I have quite a few old scars on my back.

The problem being that they weren't there yesterday.

This is not great news.

No. No, it isn't. That's only a little scary to think about.

It seems to fit with people gaining abilities not usually found in humans.

I don't blame you. That's not something I'd wish on anyone, abilities or not.

Did it come with abilities not usually found in humans? Or did you get the bad stuff without the at least kinda-good stuff?

No abilities, though I remember having them. I think I might actually prefer this to feeling like my brain was being tampered with.

Yeah, I get that, but... sheesh. At least they weren't fresh scars. Now I'm wondering if I'm gonna wake up one morning with new callouses.

Are those gonna cause a problem? You don't do anything that you normally expose your back for, right?

Yeah. Fresh would not have been good.

I'm a figure skater - so maybe some costume alterations for the few skates I still do, but nothing major or that I'll need to explain.

What kind of callouses are you worried about waking up with?

From the sound of it that'd be a lot of blood, huh. But hey, at least that's normally a sport where people wear flashy stuff that covers their upper halves. [A beat.] Well, the men do, at least.

Oh, on my fingers, mostly - I imagine they'd be different playing bass guitar than they are with my acoustic guitar. And she played a lot more, too, I think.

The women wear more than it looks like they do. But they're still more likely to have skin exposed than men, by a lot.

Which does she play? The bass or the acoustic?
