I received more memories and they make me question the reality of this even more.

I was a princess. Of a country called Monsea - which is my real last name.

And my father - in these memories, not my father right now - was a terrible person who has powers, like a superhero (I guess that makes him a supervillain).

But I lived in a medieval like castle.

Quite frankly, I'm expecting a dragon to show up.

"Monsea" was never a country in Europe.

I know that, I've been to Europe.

[ Unless it had been some small little out of the way place that was no longer a thing. This was thought but not added to the conversation. ]

I meant did you get a sense of whether Monsea was an island, or a country... maybe an entire world?

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.

The Monsea in my dreams was a country bordered on the west, north, and east by mountains, and a sea to the south. I got the impression there were other countries nearby.

My mother was from some island country to the west.

Sounds vaguely like Italy.

And... how did you know your father was a wizard? Did he do some magic in your dream?

The icy bogs and harsh winters make me believe it is decidedly not Italy.

My father in my memories was also not a wizard. I meant what I said about it being more like superpowers. There were no rituals, spells, wands, potions, familiars - nothing at all even vaguely akin to western magic lore.

But he had the power to make people believe and do anything he said. The power was called a grace.

That makes it sound more like Scotland.

[ A beat. ]

If England were lopped off the bottom of it.

[ If he were surprised the name of the power also happened to be shared by his girlfriend it only showed as a slight drawing away from the screen. ]

A Grace? Hypnotism, maybe, about as far from grace as you can get! Imagine what some one could do with a power like that. It didn't work on you?

If Scotland or England were bigger and surrounded by high mountains and other countries, yes.

Hypnotism - no. His power worked even traveling via other people. If they spread what he said, it had the same effect as if he'd said it himself.

[She'd already said her father in her memories was a terrible person, she doesn't think she needs to spell it out.]

You know, I don't recall the Christian theology of any sect appearing anywhere in my memories.

There's Ireland.

[ He nodded and clicked his tongue. ]

But point taken. It's some fantasy-type country that doesn't actually exist.

That's spooky though, a contagious phrase. What was he using it for?

I'm sorry. That sounds like it's a lot to deal with.

[A beat. The idea that comes into her mind sounds stupid to her, and yet...]

...so if we're all getting memories or visions or whatever, and Anakin got his feelings-thing, and I got earrings... do you think eventually Monsea will appear in our world? There's kind of a progression, right?

There was a laser sword and fighting robots while wearing robes....

I don't know what I expected.

Any sense whatsoever?

How silly of me to expect that from the world we live in.

The whole country?

You're very focused on what he did.

Am I? Huh.

[ Anthony hadn't noticed that but she was right. ]

Guess its like one of those true crime things where you find yourself wanting to hear all the details even though you know you aren't going to have any faith left in humanity once you have.

[ Apologetic shrug. ]

At least it isn't real?

Maybe? Start with a royal something or other, scale up to the castle, then eventually the whole country? I know it sounds crazy, but we don't know, right?

I don't know if I'd want to trade this life for the one in my memories. I mean, I like indoor plumbing and aircon and automobiles and trains.

And toothpaste, and modern medicine. Think of all we'd give up if we had to live in a medival-like castle.

The more memories I get, the more I don't know.

You are starting to have doubts. That's where I am. Anthony, by the way.

Nah, it all started off feeling like a complete fairy tale and with each new memory its just feeling more real. It can't be real of course, but its the realist fake I've ever felt.

I mean, we don't have to trade everything. Think of it like a... vacation home, or something. Just a really big one. And you'd probably have to stamp your passport.

Besides, it'd give you somewhere to be if you couldn't handle... y'know. [Lisa gestures forward, probably at her computer.] All this.

Probably for the best.

Well.

There is slightly more here than the ones we remember living in? Possibly.

Where would I put a castle? I don't own any property.

Oh, details, details. It'll all work out somehow.

-really, I have no idea, I'm just throwing out ideas. But it's as likely as anything else, isn't it?
