I happen to eat one of those candy hearts last week while I was home alone with my dog and was inspired to write poetry about him. I think you might enjoy it so I'll read it now.

Voice
My adorable Franklin, you inspire me to write.
I love the way you prance and run through the dog park,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about your bushy tail and
the sound of your paws padding in the house.

Your dulcet tone warn me of the mail and strangers
Your stocky trunk and wet nose are the hallmarks of a healthy pup.
Ice bites the debris of February,
And wintertime has the cushy sextet.
But you are here to keep me warm with your head on my lap.

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your golden fur, generous kisses, and brown eyes.
Thinking of your perfect silky ears fills my days.
My love for you is an endless eternity.

[ Bail laughs at himself and then cuts the feed. ]

Uh, it was Valentine's, those things just sprout up like weeds. That's like asking where pumpkins come from at Halloween!

Most people usually buy their own candy.

I thought the box I picked a heart from was my daughter's but she told me it wasn't hers when I asked. Then I knew.

I thought the stuff that was supposed to suddenly appear was actual STUFF like swords or whatever!

And candy, apparently.

That doesn't make ANY sense. How. Why.

That is an excellent question that I don't know the answer to.

Perhaps it's something we should ask the Bureau?

Yeah, I guess. They probably dunno and if they do they probably won't tell us, but ain't like asking'll hurt.

I've heard of a few others asking questions and they lived to tell us the answers they got.

Uh, you haven't heard of the other way around, right?

I have not.

[ But Bail is not going to point out the fact that maybe they wouldn't even hear of those. ]

[Yeah, but that's kinda better than definitely hearing of them.]

So super. All this time I've been worried about swords and monsters, and it turns out even the candy's out to get us.
