Uh...so...this might be a weird question....and I'm asking it because I've been out of the game a really long time.

How can you tell you're dating someone when your "dates" don't feel like "dates?"

Going for coffee..and meals like lunch and dinner.

Hmm...could be dates but also could just be perceived as friendship. Have you asked the other person if you are dating? Or...done anything more then just hold hands?

His name is John...John Smith...we met during one of those portal times....one of the more dangerous ones.

Since then we've been meeting for coffee...and lunch and I really like him. But I don't think he thinks we are more than friends.

Hmm... perhaps you could ask him if he'd be interested in going out to dinner and a movie or the like and see how he answers. Nothing too fancy of course, but if he's as clever as I suspect anyone you'd be interested in would be, he may well get the hint.

Secondly ... I'd say it depends on how you feel. If you feel like they could be dates, maybe ask the other person what they think. You know, discreetly.
