Bureau Q & A Compilation

I don't know if anyone else has been reaching out to the Bureau, but I thought maybe a compilation of official responses could be helpful. It's not a pretty format, but should be fully editable for everyone. I'll keep it updated on my end as well.

Okay, wait.

“among those who had otherwise experienced recollections”

So people have been getting weird memories since... whenever? And they’ve just been erasing the experiences? THEN something changed like a year and a half ago and NOW they can’t erase things?

How long has all of this been going on? What changed?

Maybe Ms. Becker would be a better person to ask, she seems nicer.

Maybe other people can try talking to them, too. No offense, but maybe they'd give a different answer to an adult?

Is not sharing that information with the rest of us smarter? Or does that mean they just don't trust us?

All that neutrality does is maintain the status quo.

From the Bureau or the masses?
not_as_i_do: (exsqueeze me?)

[personal profile] not_as_i_do 2020-09-08 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for sharing, dear boy. This is ... troubling. What I'm seeing is that we're some sort of inconvenience. That is, if one reads between the lines. Which doesn't exactly give me a warm, fuzzy feeling.
not_as_i_do: (you're kidding me)

[personal profile] not_as_i_do 2020-09-08 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
This just gives me the impression they know a certain amount less than they claim to... that they're dealing with more than they expected, but afraid of admitting it for loss of authority.
not_as_i_do: (well you see...)

[personal profile] not_as_i_do 2020-09-14 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. ... Though, the less I hear from them, the more I think there's a reason they're hiding things. ... I have something I think you might need to see, dear boy.
not_as_i_do: (hello social network)

[personal profile] not_as_i_do 2020-09-17 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. It's in one of my work journals, though. I can't quite show it over the network. Poor quality camera on this phone.

[it's a perfect white lie: he did puzzle out the cipher on the back page of one of his journals in progress, while at work. and it doesn't look like anything the Bureau would really care about - he hopes]

We could meet up somewhere and chat. I've started to make a sort of hobby out of meeting people from the network for coffee.Or ... I may have a better idea.
not_as_i_do: (we're on to something here)

I've been thinking of having a little mixer, something a touch above the usual support group. All ages. Would you consider coming if I did?
not_as_i_do: (totally sane person yep)

['p r o l l y'???? good lord who is teaching these kids to type]

Well, then, I insist. I'll be glad to have you. What sort of drinks do you like so I can have them on hand?

I kinda feel like, from their own description, that they see themselves as nature documentary film makers trying not to disturb things that they film, but we're the wild animals they are studying and we keep trying to take the camera away and communicate with them.

It's nice that they take responsibility for us and our well-being, but even if they could, I'm not sure I want them to take my memories away. Not anymore. Not after all this. I know I'm the vocal minority, though.

No. There are a few things that shouldn't be just their decision.

I think I'm just glad this lady sounds nicer. I was afraid the whole Bureau would be like you-know-who.
