Arright, my outlet converter has gone missing. Might've fallen out on the ride from the airport.
How am I supposed to charge my mobile now? I rather need it if I'm going to start looking for a new ... everything.
[there's a pause as the fresh face takes a deeeeep breath and exhales slowly, before smiling]
Right, I'm sorry, that's the absolute wrong way to go about introductions, isn't it? Hullo, my name's Ellie, and I just started getting these ... other memory things. I still feel daft saying it. But I don't suppose any of you have any advice for someone needing a flat here in the city? Apartment. You call them apartments here. I bake. I cook. I'll pay you in food. I'll walk your dogs. I don't know. I'll something.

[It's that familiar, but far too friendly, face again. He has the audacity to wave in an amiable manner. He looks to be in an office of some sort, rather than a living space. There's a couple of degrees on the wall and a bunch of books.]
Whereabouts in the city are you looking to move? I don't know much outside of northwest Manhattan, but I can get you around, show you the tube routes, where to get a converter. You might also just need to see about getting a...hang on! Wait!
[He vanishes for a moment, leaning down to the side as he rummages for something. He's muttering to himself as he looks for several seconds, then finally -]
Nope...no, oh, hey, was looking for that! No...aha! Yes!
[He sits up, holding a converter in his hand. He looks pleased with himself.]
I just happen to have a spare. Happy to drop it off somewhere for you. I'm John, by the way. I think we spoke in passing before?

I haven't even started thinking of areas, just ... near enough to go yell at Alec if he starts doing things that aren't good for him. I'd love a -
[and then he ducks out of view, leaving her to look at the feed with an amused, but perplexed sort of frown. when he pops back up, she grins just about immediately]
Oh aren't you just a dear! Dear John, that's a bit odd, though, isn't it?Little awkward. [she flashes an embarrassed smile, but it doesn't stop her from chattering in the least] I'm Ellie. ... Said that earlier, though, didn't I. Ha ...
[too much energy, too much awkward, still not bothered]

Afraid I can't help you with Alec's location; we've only just met and you know - strangers and all that, he hasn't told me whereabouts in the city he's staying. But I suppose you can get anywhere on the tube or in a taxi!
[He laughs at the 'Dear John' comment and shrugs a bit, completely untroubled by the potentially embarrassing feeling. Every name had some sort of unfortunate phrase that went with it, after all.]
Nice to meet you, Ellie. Don't worry about any old Dear John - no one leaves letters anymore. That's why we've got texts. [With a bit of cheek, he tosses the converter into a satchel and sets it on a jacket.] Anyway, it's all yours. Just let me know if you want to meet somewhere and I can hand deliver it, just for you - or I'll mail it, if you're more comfortable. I've been here long enough I've mostly converted everything over to US standard.

[mail, ugh. no. she's such a social creature and she's starved for it in this silly little Best Western she booked]
I could eat. How 'bout I treat you to lunch? 'D cover the cost of that converter and tube fare.

Aw, you don't owe me any lunch for this! But I won't say no to getting out and having it! I'm up near Columbia University - that's northern Manhattan. Tell you what - give me the address you're at and I'll come to you, and we'll have lunch and I'll give you a whirlwind tour - but only if you're in Manhattan - I'm shite with the rest of the boroughs.
[He's already putting things in a backpack, including the converter and his wallet, and reaching for a light jacket, but he flashes her another cheeky little grin.]
Shall I set them up a log?
[she'll text him the address of the hotel]
A tour sounds like a lovely way to spend th' day. I'll see you soon?
YES Please set them up a log! :D
But! None of my business; you have to do what's best for you.
[He inputs the address of the hotel in his GPS and starts to gather his things.]
Great! I'll meet you there in half an hour-ish. Traffic is a bit meh around here.
