The strangest thing happened to me. I came home from work, tried to use my keys to unlock my door, and then suddenly I'm holding a bowl full of sherbet!

I had to ask my neighbor, who has my spare key, to let me in.

Once I got into my apartment, the sherbet turned back into my keys! In my hand.

My neighbor thought I was playing a prank on her. She is not happy.

Anyone else have something like this happen to them today?

I take it your experience was not positive.

Not in the least. Don't get me wrong, it could have been far worse, but ... It still wasn't the kind of incident one wants on professional record, let's put it that way.

Well, my dear ... I have a feeling all I have to do is tell you that I'm a heart surgeon, and you can probably take it from there.

Oh! I see. That could go horribly wrong!

And so it very nearly did. I'm thinking a wrist splint and a faked sprain may be my best course of action. Postpone as much as I can... I hate to have to send my patients elsewhere if they need me, but ... I'd rather do that than lose them.

That seems extreme but I do not blame you.

I think I might take some personal days off work. Who knows what I might turn into dessert.

A little, yes. I'm just a little hard-pressed to come up with something better that doesn't draw more attention. I'm open to suggestions: especially if you've been dealing with being Different for a while. I've only been at it a month or two. Still getting used to it.

I wish I could tell you something useful. So far, I have just been using my holiday time when things become unexplainable to my supervisor.

That in itself is a bit useful, really. How many times have you had to do that, so far?
