At least, it should be familiar. In this world, York had been too close to a forklift battery that blew up, causing most of the scarring to be the puckers of a burn scar. Now, though, it's a much more defined reddish line. His eye is still covered by a white cataract, making that the only similarity to how it looked before. ]

What the fuck is this?

[ He removes his hand from his face, but keeps the camera close, still focused on his scar. This is the most attention he's ever drawn to the thing. ]

Anyway, it's my birthday in three days. I'm having a party at the Lotus. So you can come and stare at this bullshit if you want. Or have a drink with me. Either way.

[ He's kind of pissed, obviously. His experience with having his memories return hasn't been the best. ]

No, nope, not that. I had a dream a grenade went off right in front of my helmet; you know, the space helmet I wear in that other life? Anyway I woke up with my scar looking like this now. How is that even possible?

We were in a fight...a training session, I'm pretty sure. But my other teammates had real weapons. One of them threw a grenade at our opponent but it landed near me and went off, right in front of my helmet.

That is awful. Why would they use real weapons in a training session?

I was confused about it at first, but...seems like they were under orders to make it more challenging for our opponent.

I did. It was after a weird dream where my scar came about a different way&mash;via a grenade explosion.

Generally, in my medical experience, those are supposed to get better, not worse ...

Audiobooks. I don't read much. It's hard to pay attention to it. If I'm walking though, an audiobook is just the thing.
