I've been thinking maybe these memories are a way to warn us of our past mistakes, so that we can be better versions of ourselves this time.

But then I guess we'd have to worry about what that means.

Yeah? I don't really know what it means for me. Or.. I don't know enough about philosophy to wonder too hard about the destiny angle, but it does make me wonder.

I feel like my past self set a pretty low bar if it's true, at least.

A low bar means you can hold your head high and deal with stuff as it comes. We're teenagers, for the moment at least. We're supposed to make bad decisions.

Destiny gets messy fast, though. That crest on your hand matters exactly as much as you want it to.

Not all your decisions are bad, if you're accepting constructive criticism. Neither of you, I'd be willing to bet.

Ha! I was going to say that but I thought it might be too forward. But... yeah. Have a little faith. Or borrow a little from the rest of us, if you need it.

I'll give it a try. It's just been a difficult month. You've definitely made it brighter though, so I appreciate that a lot.

It's okay. And you act like I'd have done anything less. Besides, you're not the only person that remembers mistakes they don't want to make again.

Well, hopefully we'll be able to avoid repeating them now that we've already made them once.

Bold of you to assume I'm any good at not making mistakes. Then again, they got me here, so... maybe not a mistake after all.
