I've been thinking maybe these memories are a way to warn us of our past mistakes, so that we can be better versions of ourselves this time.

But then I guess we'd have to worry about what that means.

A low bar means you can hold your head high and deal with stuff as it comes. We're teenagers, for the moment at least. We're supposed to make bad decisions.

Destiny gets messy fast, though. That crest on your hand matters exactly as much as you want it to.
scotch_egg: (doesn't seem right)

Hell no.

But just who are they anyway, have you found that out? Why are they in charge as opposed to anyone else?

No, but as a dedicated employee that seems like basic information. Sort of like the history of the company.
serpentinthegarden: (You are so weird)

[personal profile] serpentinthegarden 2020-08-06 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
That doesn't sound so bad...

Not all your decisions are bad, if you're accepting constructive criticism. Neither of you, I'd be willing to bet.
serpentinthegarden: (Show off)

[personal profile] serpentinthegarden 2020-08-06 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
That was a long time ago.
serpentinthegarden: (Looking for agreement)

[personal profile] serpentinthegarden 2020-08-06 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
That would never happen since She is the one who cast me out. I'm not to be trusted with anything especially not anything as important as life itself.

So you... killed God? My people would probably love you. They've been wanting to do that for centuries.
serpentinthegarden: (I always drive ninety)

I never said I wanted that... just that would be the end result of Armageddon, I mean I assume, I don't have any inside knowledge on that.
Darkness is fine, I don't mind a bit of darkness. Desolate darkness sounds like it would be pretty boring... You never mentioned before that it would be desolate.

Anyway if the power was entrusted to you how could it be used against Her unless it was your idea? It's not like the power of a God is easy to steal.
serpentinthegarden: (What?)

[personal profile] serpentinthegarden 2020-08-06 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh.

[ Awkward... ]

You make a deal with him?
serpentinthegarden: (Calm plotting)

[personal profile] serpentinthegarden 2020-08-06 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Tough break.

But... she was practically asking for it by giving all her power to a human. She had to have known that was a bad idea.

Perhaps. But that does seem to undermind the idea that these are whole, actual lives we are remembering. I'd be hesitant to say that the totality of most people's lives aren't a lesson in failure.
serpentinthegarden: (Its red)

[personal profile] serpentinthegarden 2020-08-06 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
As if that matters if it causes the end of the world...
hardtoignore: (Welp... Uh....)

[Not that Clarence disagrees, but right now this isn’t something he can add to and be helpful so he’s just going to spam Elliott with cat videos.]
temptationaccomplished: (yes erm that was exactly what I planned)

That is the nature of ALL things past, even the most conservative or conventional: to learn from them.

I wouldn't put too much stock in it, however. You'll twist yourself in knots trying to find meaning in moments that may well have been fluke or happenstance, or that you do not fully understand the significance or manner of.
